The power of novel coronavirus to transform the nature of commerce and disrupt settled business operations is evident everywhere, including the global assessment community. The Association of Test Publishers' (ATP) and the 2020 Global Conference Committee introduce as a lead up to the Virtual Global Conference (September 14 - 18, 2020), the "New World of Testing (NWT)" digital series. This series showcases the assessment community ingenuity to address unprecedented challenges as well as a myriad of concerns that saddles new, mostly, digital solutions.

These challenges and concerns touch all facets of the assessment enterprise from the science of measurement to data protection and privacy to fairness and equity. The NWT provides a forum for invited experts to share their knowledge and experience with the worldwide assessment community on these and related topics. During the summer months look for announcements about the NWT "Lunch and Learn" digital events. Upon registration, the summer "Lunch and Learn" events are available free to the staff of member and non-member organizations. COVID-19 pandemic has spurred a global crisis, including access to quality learning and certification opportunities in schools, higher education and the workforce. Increasingly, one of the key steps needed to foster recovery is expanded access to the development of critical skills, such as social-emotional skills, digital skills, critical thinking, creativity and computational thinking. This webinar will bring together experts in skill development, learning sciences and psychometrics to present and discuss ongoing learning, assessment and certification initiatives that are supporting development of critical skills during and post pandemic in K-Career settings.
