The ATP Security Committee Releases Two New

Subcommittee Publications

The ATP Security Committee, under the auspices of Co-Chairs Rory McCorkle of International Credentialing Associates (ICA) and Chuck Friedman of Professional Examination Service, released two new subcommittee publications: ATP Guidelines for Legal Protection of Assessment Content and ATP Online Piracy Enforcement Strategies: Guidelines and Best Practices. Both publications, described below are offered in bound format in the ATP Bookstore.  ATP members can download free .pdfs of these publications by logging into the ATP site and clicking on Guidelines and Surveys under the Members Only tab.

ATP Guidelines for Legal Protection of Assessment Content

This document outlines common legal strategies and best practices/guidelines that test sponsors and/or publishers may consider using to protect their assessment content. Although this report has been prepared with test publishers and sponsors of testing programs in mind, its contents apply equally to all types of assessments in all types of settings (e.g., clinical, educational, industrial/organizational, certification/licensure, and workforce skills credentialing).

ATP Online Piracy Enforcement Strategies: Guidelines and Best Practices

The Enforcement Subcommittee has worked with members representing different industries to identify strategies to address online piracy and demystify the processes surrounding protection of assessment content. This report identifies non-litigation strategies to assist organizations in conducting or expanding their own programs to combat unauthorized publication of assessment content by rogue websites, social media, and other Internet-based enterprises.
