Our goal is to redirect the dialogue toward a more rational and informed conversation about the core value of assessment as a whole, and provide intelligent recommendations for the proper application and use of assessments in a variety of contexts.

The idea of “reclaiming the conversation” was born of ATP members observing that too often conversations around testing had a biased tone. Campaigns such as “Opt Out” (of standardized testing) can carry negative and distorted views on the value of testing. The ATP has always represented the collective voice of the testing industry and in doing so provides clarification or counterpoints to misconceptions regarding testing and assessments, and actively promotes the value of testing and advocates for its proper and intended purposes.
