E-ATP's 2023 Conference Programme is Online andRegistration is open for 20-22 September 2023 in ViennaThis year's E-ATP Conference Steering Committee has been hard at work planning for another successful, in-person, conference in Vienna this fall. Scheduled to take place at the Vienna Marriott in Vienna, 20-22 September, E-ATP: The European Home of Assessment, will present a programme that is as diverse as its intended audience. "Sessions are comprised of topics with a broad appeal across the testing industry, while at the same time being focused on a European audience," noted 2023 E-ATP Chair Neil Wilkinson of Pearson VUE. "E-ATP has always been about creating valuable networking and building relationships beyond the conference, as well as providing educational sessions which allow the European assessment community to showcase achievements and discover global successes that could enhance European assessment," he added. Wilkinson also noted that Generative AI continues to be a huge topic both of excitement and concern, and so the E-ATP programme will include sessions that examine its usefulness as well as the new challenges and opportunities of tools such as ChatGPT. But at the same time, he noted, there are many other challenges that Europeans are experiencing that will also impact the assessment industry and will also be examined. "For example," said Wilkinson, "Europeans are experiencing significant economic challenges which are being driven by a range of factors. This often leads to an increase in people changing roles and seeking new training and qualification programs. The war in Ukraine continues to affect Europe widely with the potential for significant further disruption. There has been a huge migration out of Ukraine affecting many countries, which may well impact education policies and spending, but also require training and re-qualification of the people affected. And finally, as the industry deals with the aftermath of covid, clients are evaluating how to use remote proctoring as part of their offerings. For some organisations remote proctoring is moving towards being a special accommodation like extra time, and some continue to use it as their main offering. There is the potential to have very divergent testing experiences across difference clients and sectors of the industry. These, and other topics, will be the focus of panel discussions and educational sessions at E-ATP 2023." ATP members can register using the member code: 23EATP!
